Im not a military player in Anno, but i build tons of them in Anno 1503 as they can be really nice to decorate your cities. At this point i want to like the military units. In my opinion in a better way then most of the modern ones. Moments like these and the wild animals make this game feel really alive. The thing i really like about them, and this might seem like a really little thing, is the moment a new product reaches the island and all your people running to the service stands. And yes, its sometimes hard to keep track of your service stands in bigger cities, as its hard to know if every house can reach all of the stands it needs. Yes, one tile buildings can be annoying to plan in, but with the higher amount of them, you can get that sorted out.

The service stands are for many people hated, but i really love them. You have 5 (6 if you count tundra, but i count it as a mix of polar and northern) different Island types with different fertilities. The variety of different climates on one map.The world really feels like a newly discovered world, with you being one of the pioneers building this world up.Some of the things i love most about Anno 1503:
#Anno 1503 full
Anno 1800 is for me the closest it has gotten since then, but is not there yet, even tho i really like the fact that you can see the evolution of technology more this time.Īnno 1503 is in some areas pretty unique, as it basicly is full of features and ideas the devs had back then, that mostly got left behind with 1701. While I like the modern ones, i dont think they really give me the same feeling of exploring a undiscovered world and building big cities in this world. Does it play well? Is it like 1701, like a less evolved version of later games, or is it enjoyable on its own?Īnno 1503 is the Anno i come back to over and over again. Now should I get 1503? It's 15 years old but from screenshots it seems it's a level of dated I can accept. Really, I don't see much reason to play 1701 if you have 1404. It's like a difference between a hamburger patty and a hamburger. It looks and plays exactly the same but 1404 just feels like an expanded and enriched version of 1701. And as for 1701, it's good but it's basically 1404 without half the content. The former turned out to be just a bit dated for me (no offence to the fans, just my feeling). 1800 for me is in the same place as 2205 was on launch - waiting for the rest of the content. Then 2205, which was a disappointment but ultimately, with all the DLCs, it's a solid game. Started with 1404, fell in love with the series.
